Mmmm

Look what I made today!

Lise's Baby Shower

Lise had a baby shower last weekend. Thanks to Nina and Kristina for the preparations. It was a surprise, and boy was she surprised. All in all a very koselig day.

I think I've been working too much. Some how this happened today.

Carrot in Coffee

What the?

We were alerted to some noise outside our apartment last night. When we looked outside we saw an outdoor "fashion show" in full swing on the street below us. It was hosted by a hair salon, so I'm maybe guessing it was a hair show. And as quick as it started, it was over. I found this bizzare.

Flea market 2.

While Håvard was away in Tallinn last week, I "girlied up" the bedroom a little with new purple flowered curtains and another lovely flea market find, candlestick. I was looking for an old fashion lamp to go on the bedside table, but when I came across this lovely candle holder I figured it would do. Håvard liked it, I think. Though I'm not convince he's totally down with the extra feminie curtains yet.

Proud.

Flea Market Find

I found this amazing piece of furniture at the flea market today. It's going to be our new TV stand. The doors still work and everything. I love it and am proud to share that I even negotiated the price with the friendly merchant down to one I could afford and thought was reasonable. :)

The rest of the pics are to show the intense snow storm that I CARRIED IT, BY MYSELF, on foot, approximately 1 kilometer, home in. I was able to snap these few pictures with my cell phone before colapsing on the floor completely out of breath.

(NB: all readers from the midwest USA, I don't expect too much sympathy on the snow storm bit ... but you guys drive cars.)

Christmas Break

Belated

Håvard and I carved some pumpkins this year. I took them to work to be a little seasonal. Halloween isn't super big here yet. (YET!). A five year old stood infront of them for about 30 seconds before turning to me and saying in a proud tone, with eyebrows raised, "These don't scare me."

I guess that means we have to up the bar for next year.

What does one do with two left shoes?

So Håvard and I were shopping one day and came across these cool shoes for a very cool price and bought them for his 7 year old son. We knew they were a year away from fitting but they price could not be beat so we got them anyway. When we gave them to him as a part of his birthday celebration he was so excited and insisted on wearing them at once even though they were way too big. He put them on an we immediately realized what had happened. We had purchased two left shoes. We groaned and brought it to his attention, to which he replied, "So, can I just wear them anyway?"

It was closing/going out of business sale, and the store was gone the following week.
I was diligently working away today when my co-workers sat this plate of loveliness on the desk I was working at. Friday treat. I was so moved that I had to take a picture. I love my job.

From the rooftop today.

We've been having a heat wave for about a week here in Norway. And I think there is a storm coming tonight... which will be nice to ease the heat. It made for a lovely view off the rooftop.

Today's inspiration was found amongst my mess. My messy, messy apartment.
